Manuscript Templates
ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿSeveral specialized templates exist for proofreading manuscripts:
- {{Manuscript Insertion}} is used when an author inserts text into the manuscript. The shortened version is {{MI}}. For example, {{MI|new text}} produces new text.
- {{Manuscript Deletion}} is used when an author deletes text from the manuscript. The shortened version is {{MD}}. For example, {{MD|new text}} produces
deleted text. - {{Manuscript Erasure}} is used when an author erases text from the manuscript, but it remains legible. The shortened version is {{ME}}. For example, {{ME|new text}} produces
deleted text. - {{Manuscript Replacement}} is used when an author deletes text from the manuscript and substitutes new content. The shortened version is {{MR}}. For example, {{MR|old text|new text}} produces new text
old text. - {{Manuscript Substitution}} is used when an author uses shorthand in the manuscript that should be converted to its full form during transclusion. The shortened version is {{MS}}. For example, {{MS|shorthand|full form}}.
- {{Manuscript Joiner end}} is used to indicate a character that is used at the end of a line to indicate that it should be joined with the text on the next line. The joining character is displayed in the Pages namespace, but not when transcluded. The shortened version is {{MJe}}. For example, {{MJe|-}}.
- {{Manuscript Joiner start}} is used to indicate a character that is used at the start of a line to indicate that it should be joined with the text on the previous line. The joining character is displayed in the Pages namespace, but not when transcluded. The shortened version is {{MJs}}. For example, {{MJs|-}}.
- {{Manuscript &}} is used to transcribe ampersands found in manuscripts. Such ampersands are rendered as & in the Pages namespace and as "and" when transcluded. The shortened version is {{M&}}.
